Venice Virtual Reality: deadline for submissions 15 June

Exciting news for creators and producers of virtual, augmented and mixed realities! The 75th Venice International Film Festival is now open for submissions.

What is it?

Venice Virtual Reality will present up to 30 Immersive Story Projects in competition throughout the festival. Programmed by Power to the Pixel’s CEO & Founder, Liz Rosenthal and Michel Reilhac, Head of Submarine Channel and held on Lazzaretto Vecchio Island, this is a fantastic chance to showcase the world’s leading immersive stories.

A jury, composed of leading figures in the creative world will award the following three prizes:

  • Best VR Immersive Story
  • Best VR Experience for interactive content
  • Best VR Story for linear content

Projects can be in different XR formats: all formats of Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Mixed Reality (MR) or 360 Dome projection. Projects must be World or International Premieres.

Looking to secure finance for your VR projects? The 5th edition of the Venice Gap-Financing Market could offer you the perfect solution – and is now open for submissions!

How does it work?

The market supports international producers looking to secure finance and distribution for their projects through one-to-one meetings with international decision-makers. The three-day event will present 15 international VR immersive story projects, in addition to 25 fiction and documentary feature films.
