MIT asked us to be part of their campaign for A Better World – a fund-raising event that calls on the supporters and friends of MIT to help fund the problem solvers of tomorrow.

With 400 alumni attending, our task was to engage and connect this myriad of engineers, inventors, and innovators. We needed to remind them of their love and commitment to MIT, its cause, and its culture.

To do this, we created an interactive grid of cultural quirks, full of interactions that were specific to each story and involved the audience in the telling.

A combination of elusive illustrations and physical objects that, when triggered, came to life with light and sound which surprised and intrigued the alumni to explore further.

With each interaction, conversations began: old colleagues remembering old jokes; the young in awe of the scale of MIT’s global achievements.

All connecting through a shared culture – a starting point for future stories.
